SOLUTION TO LAST MONTH'S PUZZLER
It takes only two quick steps to see the solution:
1. The dogs were 100 meters apart at the time the engineer hit the ground. The dogs' noses would have touched, crushing Fifi the flea after exactly eight seconds had elapsed. The fact that the flea stayed in the air was irrelevant.
2. The fact that the engineer did
NOT stay in the B-1 bomber was NOT irrelevant. Because the B-1 bomber's
pilot IMMEDIATELY
took
evasive
action when she
saw the dogs collide, the engineer did not have time to change his
clothes before losing his balance and falling through the cargo door.
Therefore, the engineer's suspenders were red.
