The 2001 Ig Nobel Prize
WHEN & WHERE: The 11th First Annual Ig Nobel Prize Ceremony was held on Thursday evening, October 4, 2001, 7:30 pm, at Harvard University's Sanders Theater.
VIDEO ARCHIVE:The event was telecast live on the Internet. As is tradition, recorded video will be made available on the Internet.
NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO: As is traditional,the Ceremony was recorded for later broadcast (on Nov. 24, the day after Thanksgiving) on NPR's Science Friday program.
The IG INFORMAL LECTURES were delivered at MIT room 26-100 on Saturday, October 6, at 1 pm.
David Jones (Nature magazine's "Daedalus")
and several of the new Ig Nobel Prize winners
attempted to explain why they did what they did.
