Ask Symmetra

Elegant solutions to complex problems
by scientist/supermodel Symmetra

Dear Symmetra:

My main squeeze and I have been together for two years. I want to get married. She is resistant to the idea. What can I do?

In any couple, itís not unusual for one member to have higher resistance than the other. Hereís one simple way to gauge your honeyís resistance. In a linear conductor,

R = R 0 [1 + alpha ( T - T0)]

where R is the resistance at temperature T, and R0 is the resistance at initial temperature T0.

Donít forget that seasonal temperature can have an effect on passion. Factor that into the calculation, then assess your potential. Ultimately, if the potential is high enough, I bet youíll overcome the resistance!
